Pantsguy asked: I do own my own home but am still paying off my mortgage. My son needs more money for college and we’ve tapped out on student loans and my credit cards are all maxed. I was wondering what I could do and thought that a home equity loan with bad credit might be an option. I don’t know if it’s a good idea though.

My dad has BAD credit score, but he brings home the money. His credit score is like 500-600 range.
My mom can’t get a loan because she has no proof of income, but my dad can’t get a loan either because he has bad credit.
Is there ANY possible, LEGAL way for my mom to get a loan (so we have low interest rate) but my dad supplies the money for my mom to pay?

I am looking for a return on rent. I pay over $1000 for a place to live anyways, but do have a few problems with my credit. Where is a good place to try for a loan, I don’t want my credit looked at sooo many times. I know of other people with bad credit say they get a loan. Any ideas? Nobody here really owner finance b/c plenty of people looking to buy.
