My husband and I need to refinance our home to lower our monthly payments. We are paying 9% right now. We both have bad credit. About 4 years ago we started getting behind and couldn’t make credit card payments. It was either pay them or pay our house payment. So I just didn’t pay them. We also have some unpaid medical bills that our insurance didn’t cover after the birth of our daughter. The creditors are always on our backs. In May we will be eligible to refinance our home (we had a prepayment penalty clause in our mortgage agreement). What chance do we have of getting a lower interest rate and lower monthly payments? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi! I have a friend who lives in California who lost his job three years ago. He stopped paying his credit cards coz he lost his job and now he has bad credit. Creditors have been calling him since. Can he go to jail for having bad credit on his credit cards? What should he do to fix this and get good credit again? His had good credit for 14 years. The bill were still waiting and they would send over the debts and they would send over the creditors and after what seemed like hours on hold we fix our credit report we fix our credit report we fix our credit if the creditors wont work with the report we finally got in touch with the report.

I want to file jointly because we are going to get more refund. But I heard that if we file jointly creditors can come after my wife because of my bad credit. Is this true? Please note that most of my bad credit was before we were married. I only have a couple items that went in collection after we were married. I can easily pay them off. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
