CHAOS asked: I have been trying to get my finances back in order after losing my job a few years ago.I would like to stop renting apartments and buy a house for my family. My credit is bad but I’m trying to repair it. It will be 5 to 6 years before my crdit is back in good standing. Will I have to wait that long before I can buy a house?

I have never owned my own home, and know absolutely NOTHING about buying a home or the first stpes to go about it. I dont have much money but i can save. Also, I have really bad credit? so what do i do first?

I recently buggered off to Australia and “forgot” about about 200£ still unpaid on a loan. How lobg does it take for the bad credit rating to go away? Or will it EVER go away? I want to buy a house soon, and be able to get a credit card. I am home 2 years now and it still is in place!
