bad credit
Elanders E asked:

Instead of fixing or repairing credit, I want to remove it. I have paid other companies lots of money but the bad credit remains.

You can’t remove it unless you can prove that it is erroneous. That’s what a credit history is all about. Don’t fall for scams from “credit repair” companies. jlf

You cannot remove bad credit from your credit report. You can only request something be removed if it’s there incorrectly, and your bad credit is there because you earned it. It will fall off 7-10 years from the time the debt was paid. As more time goes by, the less it will affect your credit score. spalmer

Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act (Federal law) derogatory accounts show on your credit report for 7-years from the date of first delinquency which works out to 7-years and 180-days weather you pay them or not.

Now if it’s a public record like a bankruptcy, judgment or tax lien it can show anywhere from 7-15 years.

This is why it’s called credit history. SPIFIMAN1

You wait many years, until it is removed automatically. Attempting to remove it sooner will either do nothing or make it last longer. StephenWeinstein

Well, you can’t just phase out or erase bad credit. That serves as part of your credit history. If you still have debts then you should settle them as soon as possible. I have had bad credit history before but I tried debt settlement. Ashley
