Does bad credit prevent or make it more difficult for someone to adopt a child?
LadyGreensleeves asked:
We are a married couple looking to adopt a child. We have one little girl already (ours by blood) but we would love to adopt a little boy. Can we be turned down for having bad (not horrible) credit? ie- credit cards and student loans.

Your financial situation does play a role in your suitability to afford another child. Why not clean up your debt then address the issue sunshine

Yes, poor credit will be an impediment to adoption. The student loans, if current and not burdensome, should pass muster. Credit cards should have low balances and be paid promptly. Sharon T
