Can you still get a local landline phone if you have very bad credit?
Marah asked:
I have very bad credit. I was very sick for a few years and am still recovering but doing better( I’m still considered disabled). I have a very small income but shouldn’t have trouble paying a phone bill. I’m probably moving to a new area and will need a landline phone. Will I be able to get one? I mean can you get one if you pay a deposit or there a landline service that you can pay for without a credit check? Thanks and please no rude or vulgar comments or answers.

You can still get a land line. The phone company will check your credit, and they might put a limit on your long distance. IF you have bad credit they will activate a block on your line when it reaches a certain dollar amount. This block will stop you from calling long distance and toll calls. Typically you can only call IntraLata or a more restrictive block will only allow you to call neighboring towns. Once your next month’s bill is paid off the block will be removed. nopostage1
