mjgreeley909 asked:

I keep watching all of your responses and I think a lot of them are great so I thought maybe you guys could help me out. I have bad credit (dont know how bad, cant find a website that could give me my credit score free). I know I have a cell phone bill for $1000. A phone bill for $350. Credit card for $450. A cable bill for $127 (that has been paid but is on my credit report as bad). And god knows what else. I always here you guys talking about getting your credit report and disputing them but I know I owe these people. I am a single mom that doesnt work a lot. Can anyone give me some good advice on how to get these off my credit report. I would like to have decent credit within the next 2 years if possible. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

First of all your scores are cheapest via annualcreditreport.com. The reports are free but the scores are $5-7. Don’t make the mistake of ordering a different product if you are just after the $5-7 scores.

if you can’t afford payments you can get non profit credit counseling and they might set up a debt mgmy plan to reduce what you owe.

Here’s what i recommend. Cancel the cable, get rid of all the bells and whistles for your home phone [voicemail may be $5/mth or $60/yr... a very usable phone answering machine is $5 used.] Change your cell bill to the best plan for your usage.

Figure out what you can manage to pay each month and pay each a portion each month — this is a debt management plan you can get a CCCS office to help with, or you can do it on your own. VideoCreditScore

Improving Bad Credit Report: If you have a bad credit record, investigate the reason for this report. If the reason is late or non-payments on your behalf, start making payments to the lender and clear off the debt. A late payment can work against you later on. If you are unable to pay due to shortage of funds, limit your spending. Another solution is to take more credit from reputed lenders who offer you flexible payment schedule. By paying off your huge debt in small amounts quickly, you can impress your prospective lenders. Then finish off the investigation of your credit report conducted by the bureau. Ujj H

You are entitled to one free report a year. Though it is better to get them from all three major agencies. A great source of information on the various agencies, how to rebuild your credit and rid your self of bad credit can be found at
