In Canada usually it is equifax. a bank will give you credit as long as your score is above 700. Generally if you dont do anything bad your score will go up about 12 points a month so if you have 6 months to wait you can get about 72 points. Don't open bank accounts, Don't close bank accounts, dont cancel credit cards dont start credit cards, dont do anything.
