LadyGreensleeves asked: We are a married couple looking to adopt a child. We have one little girl already (ours by blood) but we would love to adopt a little boy. Can we be turned down for having bad (not horrible) credit? ie- credit cards and student loans.

Elanders E asked: Instead of fixing or repairing credit, I want to remove it. I have paid other companies lots of money but the bad credit remains.

Tim O asked: My credit history is a little sketchy with a few bad months of late credit card payments. I am afraid my potential having bad credit will keep myself and roommates from renting.
If I have bad recent credit history but my 3 roommates have good credit, will I ruin our chances?

twila asked: My credit is around 570. I would like to increase it, but I was wondering what the cut off between “bad” & “not so bad, sorta fair” credit was, as I am planning on applying for a card to increase my score RESPONSIBLY. After paying off all of my debt ( which made me feel GREAT!!!), I need to rebuild my credit.
Suggestions?

Janie asked: When I turned 18 I knew I needed credit cards to grow credit. When I reached the $500 limit on my first card and the $2000 limit on my new card when I found that this was not good for my credit. I hear that as long as you don’t spend more than half of the available balance your credit will be fine. Is this true?

nmommy07 asked: I am thinking of getting a particular credit card to use on a purchase due to the fact it offers money off the purchase. I know this isn’t a great idea, so I’m still thinking about it, but my concern is with my credit. My credit is fairly good right now and I’m wondering if I get the card and cancel it shorty after, how long does it take to build the credit I lost from getting & cancelling the card, back to normal? If it’s just a few points, does that take weeks/months? Thanks.

Pepper asked: I am currently a college student with 2 checking accounts (Wamu- 3 years & BOA- 1 year) and 1 credit card (Citi- 1 year). I have always met the requirements for my checking accounts and paid all my credit card bills on time. As for loans, I do have about $10,000 of student loans in debt. I was wondering if it is okay for me to get another credit card. Also, many say that having a lot of credit cards are bad for you. What is the reccomendation of how many bank accounts and credit cards should I have so that my credits would not go down? Thanks in advance!

Nella asked: My boyfriend is in the process of clearing up some derogatory items on his credit. Once he has paid his debts how many months will it take for him to be approved for a credit card? I understand that the items will be on his credit for 7 years. Will he have to wait until then to start reestablishing credit?
